Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord. We're closing out a year and going to be beginning a new year. And in the midst of that, I find that most of us make ever so many pledges of what we're going to change in our lives.

I would submit to you that we have no power to change our lives. Unless, of course, you want to become super carnal. People who want to be super carnal and do greater sins say, "Well, this year I'm going to trim down." But the thing about trimming down is so they can go clubbing and show their bodies off.

Those people usually will be successful because they've got greater sinning that they want to do. However, for you and I, we can't do that because it doesn't work. It's not by our power nor by our might that we overcome anything. It is by His Holy Spirit.

So if we're going to even think about beginning and making a new year, and you realize God is the one who sets two new years – He sets a new spiritual year, and He sets a new physical year. And praise God that they're about six months apart. And the reason being is because we need some intervals in our life of new spiritual stuff.

But we also need to be closing out some old stuff that was bad spiritual, right? I need that. I don't know of anybody who doesn't need that. Matter of fact, those who say, "I'm doing okay. I've got Jesus with me," there's a problem with that.

See, I serve Jesus because He's the one who every time I sin, He's the one who perpetuates that. As long as I come to Him and say, "Lord, I need your mercy." I don't want to do that. I will not do that. And now He can provide forgiveness for me.

Now, those who think they're already forgiven, they don't take that step and they're in for a rude awakening when they get before God the Father and find out that their sin wasn't covered. You have a chance to cover your sin right now by your repentance. Do you not?

I realize that flies in the face of the false agenda of mankind that has changed Christianity. And I don't see Christianity belonging to Christ, doesn't it? He's the one who set forth his terms. And how can I cut in on him if I'm not the Christ and make different terms?

All through the New Testament and the Old Testament, the people were punished time and time again, or they repented time and time again. Every time they repented, they received mercy.

So we have that as an example. And then in the New Testament, it says, "Those who do these things have no inheritance in the kingdom of God." That's in the New Testament. So how do the false theologians come up with a theology that Jesus covers all your sin? And therefore, you don't have to repent because you repented once and you said, "Jesus, I want you as my Lord."

Or maybe you didn't even repent. Maybe you just said, "Jesus, I want you as my Lord." Now, I could talk about the errors of theological men. And I look at their statements as being magnetic north.

I don't know if you know what that is in sailor terms or even in flying terms. I started flying when I was 16 and found out there's a magnetic north, but there's also a true north. And there are two different settings, and you've got to do calculations to find out what true north is.

So I would submit to you, magnetic north is the attraction we have to righteousness in Scripture, righteousness in God, But not obedience in Christ. Obedience in Christ is true north. Magnetic north that we will be drawn to is some form of religion that we get relief in our brain, but we don't have to perform and find Jesus.

Do you understand the difference between magnetic north? Magnetic north is where my compass points, but now I've got to do some calculations to find out where true north is. Why? Because there's all kinds of magnetic fields affecting my compass. So I'm the one that has to do the calculations to find true north. Because if I don't find true north, now my calculations of where I'm going and where I'm leaving from... And all the reefs of life are in a different place.

And I can rake the bottom out of my ship real quick. You know, just think of huge, gnarly rocks sticking up out of the water right into the surface, and you cannot see them. Jackie and I were sailing this last summer, and we went into a really tight, tight marina, which we had to go up several channels around a couple of islands and then come into this place.

And right when I went to turn, all of a sudden, all my charts disappeared. Now, Jackie was busy doing something else. She gave herself an assignment. And so, Jackie, I need you. Church are dead. And she's still continuing to do it. I don't know if she didn't hear me or what.

And finally, I had to raise my voice. "I'm blind." We're going to hit the rocks. Get over here. Fix this thing. Because she knew how to fix it. And I got people on board. And about 50 feet that way, I know there's rocks sticking up and there's actually a mass sticking up out of the water where a boat hit one of those rocks and just the mass is sticking up out of the water.

And there's more rocks on this side. And now my chart went dead. I couldn't see where those rocks are. And so what's the most urgent thing on the menu? I didn't know which button to push. There's a new navigation system that we have, not like the other one. I didn't have a paper chart up, and I must tell you, it's not Jackie's fault, it's my fault, because I should have at least two different screens pulled up, if not three.

That if one chart system goes dead, I've got another one, instantly I can look at and I can identify the reef. Now, anybody know what a reef is? It's something that will sink your boat. It will sink you in this life. And that type of collision. My boat might survive it because it's full keeled and the keel is a part of the boat.

And the hull is an inch thick in fiberglass. But if I run aground on a reef, it's probably going to cost me at least $40,000 to make repairs. I've got to pull the boat out of the water. I've got to repair the fiberglass. I've got to have the hull redone. It's a bunch of damage.

And so we can hit wrecks in life that... Or you get stuck in doing something the same way over and over. And then you wonder, why do I do that? I'm going to stop that. Why do I do that? I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to say that anymore. I'm not going to feel it. I'm not going to burst with anger. I'm not going to cry.

Whatever your bag is of sin. Now, I consider people who are explosive with their dynamite. And how many of you know you can't smoke a dynamite stick? It's going to blow up in your face.

I consider those that like to toy with their emotions and all that stuff at your expense acid rain. And again, what kind of crops can we go and what kind of fruit can we grow if we're all sullen like a toad and always worried about our emotions? If you're worried about your emotions, it means you absolutely have not one care for anyone around you.

You're the most selfish pig that there is thinking about yourself. Instead of thinking about someone else. Now, I could go on and on about the different antics that Jesus is willing to deliver us from that we keep swearing off. I'm not doing that. But what we need is a new heart, a new mind, a new direction.

And we need to make some discoveries of why we are not holding to true north. So with that in mind, let's read Galatians chapter 6 and verse 8. For the one who sows to his flesh, that's me, myself, and I, in whatever form you want, from the flesh you're going to reap corruption.

Anybody know what corruption is? Have you ever looked down and you're watching your fingers rot off with leprosy? See, there's corruption. If you look deep in your heart and your heart is rotting and it's not seeking the Lord and it's dry and it's thirsty, there's corruption that has happened to your heart because of something that you'd want to do and you do do.

And if you do do it, then it's going to put scar tissue on your heart. And scar tissue, I don't know if you know it or not. I've got quite a few scars on my hands and other places. I've gotten a knife fight several times in my life, and I've got cuts all over me.

It was a knife fight with a surgeon, and I was asleep. He won. So I've got scar tissue. And that scar tissue is either going to be super sensitive or it's going to be dead. But whatever it is, it's piles of skin that try to hold that area that got cut in two.

You know, one time I had a kidney stone the size of my fist. And this is back before they developed some of the special procedures. And their special procedure back then was a scalpel. And it cut from here all the way over to my backbone. And all the muscles and everything to fillet the kidney to pull out that kidney stone.

And I still occasionally have trouble with that area because the folds of the muscles weren't put back together right on the inside. I try to ignore these little things for the most part, as we're supposed to do if we want to be a noble person. We don't need... to call somebody and say, hey, I'm swinging by to pick you up.

Well, my eyebrow just swelled up, and it weighs about 700 pounds, and it's pulling my face down, and my eyeball fell out. You need all that information. Or is that somebody schmoozing you to tell you how bad their life is, giving you an excuse that they don't need to follow God?

Right? We can find all kinds of excuses that are silly excuses. And we have to realize that's flesh that wants to cover our tracks for not seeking God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and body.

Remember? The number one command is to seek God with all your heart, mind, soul, and body. And the only command that you'll be judged by is what you did.

What do you think the great white throne of judgment? It's about all the times that you didn't seek God. Why? Because God made an earth to see who would seek him. And the people that would seek him would find him.

Those are the people he has reserved places in heaven in his house. And those that did not seek him chose something else because their desires were somewhere else.

Do you understand the simple equation that God set up and built a temporary planet Earth and he's going to wipe out this Earth and he's going to wipe out the stars and he's going to make a new heaven and a new Earth?

And I could go into all that, but... How about we, if we know those things, if we know that everything's going to be melted, if we know we're going to stand before the throne, shouldn't we get a different mindset about what we're going to do with the year that's coming up?

Now, I would submit to you, if we're going to close out the new, the old year, we do that now. We're in the old year, right? Or are you going to drag the old year into the new year? Then it's going to take a different mindset, and the Holy Spirit's the only one that can do that.

He says, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap. And I'd like you to substitute the correct word in there. It says eternal life. Anywhere you see that in Scripture, it is not eternal. In the English language, if we gave a real definition of the Greek word, it means a perpetual ongoing life.

It is perpetual motion in God's presence, which includes now. The problem is, because theologians have bastardized scripture and made you think you have a father and already a permanent life after this life. And the people that think that will not have a father.

Why? Because if we have a father, we have to come to the father in the son, through the son, by the son. And we have to be in association with the son. We have to be in Christ.

And I find most people are in themselves, in their vacation, in their pleasures, in their desires, and they're not in Christ. I'm telling you that if you're not in Christ, you're in something else. And the worst thing is, is you're going to be in hot water. You're not going to be in his heaven.

It says in the New Testament, in the last days, people will be seekers of their pleasures, lovers of themselves, self-centered, and they will not be lovers of God. They will love pleasures more than they love God.

Now, I realize because I do tell you the truth of what Scripture says, most of my evangelical friends will do that to that statement and to me and say, "That's false." I just quoted what the Scripture says. I would say their idea is false, and they've given themselves a false charting.

A false direction and a false true north. True north, to me, if I'm charting it right, it means all my desires are in God for God. And if all my desires are in God, that's being in Christ, for Christ, then I don't have other desires. My other desires will reset my compass.

The compass of your life is set by one desire, the love of the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and body. If you love something else and not him, your compass is off. And if our compass is off, there's where all of our antics come from. It's because our flesh is there.

Our arguments are caused by what? We don't get what we want when we want how we want, right? It says that we get into that mindset. It says, why do you argue and fight? It's because you're not getting what you want. Well, that means you're just a grown-up bully and a grown-up kid.

Now, how many of you met a kid that's a bully even to parents? Isn't that a weird thing? Isn't that a strange thing? So it doesn't matter about your size. It doesn't matter about your gender. As to whether you're going to bully people around you, God looks at your bullying.

What does he call it? Witchcraft. If you're going to bully somebody else, you're practicing power over someone else. And practicing any power other than submitting to Jesus is pharmacia. You're depending upon your power to win the fight, win the argument, and get what you want.

That's the practice of witchcraft. Now, I can tell you many that are in theology that have their theology set on magnetic north, that is, I get to chase my pleasures and talk about God and find scriptures that will fit in with my thought process that will legalize me setting my compass for my desires.

I recently... I went to Colorado to spend some time with dearly loved cousins. We grew up together, kind of like brothers and sisters. And I was kind of shocked to find that every moment of their time is planned out in the future for this trip, that trip, this vacation, going to Europe, going here, going there.

I mean, it's a constantly go, go, go, go session. And I just, I came away just deeply saddened. Yes, they will not hardly miss a service in church, but their compass is set on their pleasures, thinking that they're okay with God as long as they say, Jesus, I accept you as my Lord.

Well, if we have Jesus as our Lord, is Jesus going to all those places, or are we supposed to be headed towards our Father? Hello? But for me to explain that to them, I can tell you I was in the Southern Baptist realm for many years, and it's drilled into the heads.

It wasn't when I was a kid. It was hellfire and brimstone, and you knew you needed to get your act right. But everything has changed within that curriculum to the knowledge of men about Christ, and Christ has done everything, and therefore we have nothing further to do because it's free, you know.

That's a lie. Across Jesus' life. It's unmerited favor, grace. That's a lie. Unmerited favor means it's the power of God coming down from on high, the power of the Holy Spirit coming into my heart, changing my heart that I would love God above all things, including my personal desires.

So if a person has grace poured about on them and in their mind and heart, you're going to see all their desires all of a sudden. They're headed towards God and they're not headed towards Europe or Italy or Germany or Iceland or other places.

Galatians 5, 16 and 18. But I say walk by the Spirit. So can we kind of look at that? If we're going to walk by the Spirit. We have to be in Jesus, and he sends the Holy Spirit, and the Father sends the Holy Spirit.

And if I walk by the Spirit, it means he takes a step, and then I step in his footprint. I'm walking by the Holy Spirit. Now, is the Holy Spirit always headed towards going on vacation and doing my desires, or is the Holy Spirit always headed towards the Father? It's the Father Spirit wanting to bring me to the Father.

The Father Spirit doesn't want to take me on a grand vacation. Now, there have been times he said, "I want you to follow me." And I agree that we can be sent. But if it's if it's your passion in life to fulfill your pleasures, then you have your compass set the wrong direction and you cannot arrive in his presence and you'll be held accountable when you stand before him.

Therefore, men that are theologians have lied. And extracted things from Scripture that aren't there, like once saved, always saved, did you know that's not in any page in your Bible? Not one word of it is true.

There's not even a connotation of that in the New Testament, and there wasn't in the Old Testament. It was always, "I will be your God if," right?

And in the New Testament, Jesus will be our Lord and Master if. We will give up our lives, surrender our lives, throw our lives away, and let him live his life in us.

Is his life in us the same as our life in us? Or does he say, you have to die to anything and everything of your pleasures and your wants and your desires?

I can tell you I'll be excommunicated from almost all the

Here is the cleaned-up sermon transcription with proper punctuation, capitalization, and natural paragraphs:

When you can never arrive and be in Him. The flesh sets its desire against the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit sets its purposes against your flesh and my flesh. Would you agree with me? That's what it says. For these are in opposition to one another so that you may not do the things you please.

But wait a minute. Isn't there a whole theology built around "you get to do the things you please"? But if you are led by the Holy Spirit, you're not under the law. Now, I remind you, Romans chapter 8, it says we were brought, those who are in Christ, they're brought out from under the law of sin and death.

And the law of sin and death means, here's my instructions, I'm God, and here, if you violate those instructions and don't do what I said when I said how I said, then you will be dead to me. There's no connection between you and me if you don't do what I said. I don't think that has changed because the second part of that, Romans chapter 8, makes the statement, but for those who are living in the law of the Holy Spirit, of a life that is lived in Christ, there is now no condemnation.

So there's a law of us doing what the Spirit says, when the Spirit says, how the Spirit says, and our life being lived in Christ. And since Christ doesn't have the same purpose as you do, and I do, everything has to be reformatted within us that we let Jesus live out His life in us and through us, as we're supposed to live out our life in Him and through Him.

He wants to accomplish the Father's purposes. Our purposes are, if you're a hider, you want to hide at home so you don't have anything to do. If you're lazy, you want to shelter yourself. If there's somebody working, oh, well, we'll be over there or we're busy over here. Oh, we did that yesterday and we're going to do this tomorrow.

There's always be some excuse not to do. And be that business that Jesus wants to do for his Father. Remember, for whose protection is it that we come out of our little comfy hidey hole? Is it mine? Because if I don't, who's going to come and join me in my house? A demonic force.

And if you've ever seen what happens to someone like Howard Hughes, he became a recluse. There was stuff piled this high in his house. He didn't come out, although he was the richest man in the world. Fingernails about that long, unclean, never took a bath, because the framing of the mind became worse and worse and worse about my hidey hole.

So we're going to one extreme, and if you're somewhere headed that way, and you don't have the long fingernails yet, but you want to hide, it's because, and why? Because you don't want to have to do any work for God. It's funny, we can always find time to do something we want to do.

You know, I was kind of raised up in Oklahoma and the lazy guys would, I'm not going to go do that. I can't do that. But yet they'll take time to clean their guns. What's the deal with that? Oh, well, I can't, you know, I got a bad back, but yet they'll go out on Sunday and they'll be trailing deer.

And climbing up rocks and steep canyons so that they can find the deer or the turkey. So we'll always make some sort of excuse so we can't follow God and realize that's our flesh and our flesh will always set itself against what the Holy Spirit wants.

The Holy Spirit wants us to maintain our position in Christ, with Christ, fellowshipping with Christ. And if you're doing what you want to do, are you in Christ? See, there's a false theology out there that says you can be in Christ and do what you want to do. But we just read a scripture that said you cannot.

Are we in agreement? It says, for these things are in opposition to one another, so that you cannot, that you may not, do the things that please you. But if you're led by the Holy Spirit, you're not under the law. Moreover, in Ezekiel 36:26, moreover, I will give you a new heart.

Now, who's going to give us a new heart if we seek him? God will. See, I cannot change my compass unless I have new desires. Now, I can't have new desires unless I have new purposes. All my purposes are supposed to be to find God, walk with God, and accomplish what Jesus wants to accomplish.

If I have a different purpose, then I have a different desire. If I have a different desire, I no longer have a new heart. The new heart that God wants to give me will only seek God. The new heart God wants to give me will only remain in the spirit and in Christ.

Now, you can say, well, I'm a crusty old guy or a crusty old girl, and you could be a whole age of seven, but you can still have a hard heart, a hard heart. And if you have a hard heart today, the easy way out of the hard heart is not to say I'll soften myself.

But we go follow our knees before him and say, Lord, I'm hard-hearted. I don't feel you like I once did. I need a new, fresh heart. And he's in that business of creating. And he still will create for you today a new heart. If you hurt the last one, you filled it full of scar tissue, he can create a new heart within you.

And you've got your spirit. And if it becomes a religious spirit, those are the worst kinds. Because the religious spirit tells us we can serve God our way and get to do what we want. I need a new spirit. That new spirit is one that goes with the new life in Christ.

And he says, I remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of... how about this, spiritual flesh that's connected to him. I need, I need, you see, there's two different kinds of flesh. There's a bad flesh. That's one connected to me, myself, and I.

There's a good flesh. That is, who's the only person who ever had good flesh? Jesus. So if he's telling me I'm going to give you a heart of flesh, who has that heart? Jesus does. And so if I come inside him now, I can't achieve these things on my own. These are things that I call out to God for.

And since we're at the end of the year, I want to read to you something I kind of wrote, if it can make sense. There is the highest of virtues. Anybody know what virtue is? Virtue means you're chasing after the right things. Not it's not chasing after. Matter of fact, I have for years in our churches in Texas, we had two different churches there.

I always ask the people to read the Book of Virtues by William Bennett. And then he had another book that he wrote. It was called The Moral Compass. And people said, well, why? That's secular. No, it's right conduct before God. And it tells you what right conduct looks like.

Why? Because we can justify anything, right? So why don't we look at what virtues that God talks about and that are brought out by our personal actions in this life. If you don't have virtue, your actions are going to be for me, myself, and I. Virtue lays itself down. Virtue is kind. Virtue is gentle. Virtue is full of love.

Virtue has everybody else's interest at heart, and virtue never thinks about itself. Virtue is never rude. Virtue, and what else could we call virtue? Maybe love. Because if we love God, we're going to have all the attributes of Christ, which is attributes of him or the virtues that God placed here that we're supposed to acquire.

And if you don't have those, can't you get those? If you want to be a plumber, you practice plumbing and go to school to become a plumber. If you want to be a person that has virtue like Jesus, you practice those things, study scripture. Sit under some devastating sermons that will destroy your hope of getting to please yourself.

There's the problem of why they call Jesus a cult. The Jews had figured out things religiously of how they could do things. Do you realize they figured out religiously how they could murder Christ and that would be okay? Hello? Isn't that a crazy one?

They figured out how they could give him a beating for being righteous and healing somebody. There's people who lacked virtue, and Jesus came and showed us and modeled that virtue. And if we're willing to take on that virtue, it's going to give us a quality of life that far exceeds anything we have ever known.

It far exceeds our current lowly state. I have to realize, and I'll be honest with you, I've got some friends that call themselves Christians, but they're the most unfaithful people I know to God. They're the most unfaithful people to the body that I know. But they're also unfaithful in their heart.

Of loving God because there's other things they love. So the compass is off. So if you give them a statement of, well, you're not loving God. Well, I love God. No, you have an emotional affinity for him, for your satisfaction of a pacifier that says you're okay.

With God. But unfortunately, being one of his little men, I have to say, you know, you'll be standing there with your pacifier before him and you'll spit that out and you will admit that you didn't desire him, that you desired other things other than him.

Yeah, I'm trying to wake up people who are like that. So that they won't be rejected by God. They don't believe they can be rejected because somebody gave them some false statements that are not in Scripture. God rejects anyone that does not do it His way.

In the New Testament, you can read in there, in the same book in Galatians chapter 5, beginning in verse 19, he gives you a whole list of people he rejects, and they will not enter the kingdom here, although they say they belong to him, and they will not enter the kingdom then. They will enter judgment.

Since the New Testament has those things to say in many different chapters, many different books by many different apostles, shouldn't we be busy to pay attention? Or are we too going to give ourselves liberty to pursue our own pleasures, our own passions, and set our own moral compass to our desires rather than the moral compass?

Moral is a God word. It's his character, his nature. It's not our character. It's his purposes. Moral is singularly for him, of him, in him. All law that is right law came from him. All instructions that are pure and holy came from him.

That is the moral compass. And if we don't have that compass, then our compass is off. You know, I can take a magnet and lay beside my ship's compass, which is about that big. I can take a magnet and put right beside it.

And all of a sudden, my compass goes to that magnet. If you have a desire other than God, and you bring it to church with you, and you can't wait to get out the door to go full with that desire. You brought a magnet, and you can't even find true north when you're sitting on a pew because your desires want to escape to go do something else.

And it is true, the gospel is deadly to what you want to do. The Bible is deadly to what you want to do. It's contrary to what we want to do. So let's get on and see what we can do.

Where there is all these unknowns in our life, we must realize I'm in a lowly state and I need you in order to enter in by the Spirit, through the Spirit. I have to stay in the Spirit and I have to come into Christ in order to enter all the thrilling mysteries.

Somebody sent me a little thing yesterday. I think it was yesterday. Texted it. And they had watched some... It was on YouTube about Prudhoe Bay, Dead Horse, and the place I used to work.

I worked up there several years, you know. And they said, wow, they say it's 45. It can be 45 below. I said, well, you know, right now that's true. Right now it's 45 below. But you wait until February when it's like 70 degrees below zero.

That's an actual still temperature. And by the end of February, you might see it drop down near to 80 below zero. And the strangest thing is the wildlife that's up there. There's crows flying around.

And the trash cans that we have, that the steel is 80 below zero, they fly over and grab hold. How did you design a creature that can grab hold of something that's 80 below zero and not just instantly cause their toes to fall off?

How did you design them that they can open their eyes on that? I spent several years in those mysteries of watching something that God made and looking at the Rory Borealis that would come out and not just wink.

Not just blush, it would be so bright that the moon paled. And it would fill the whole skies with thrilling colors. But the mysteries of that is nothing compared to the mysteries of us learning how to walk in the Spirit, by the Spirit, through the Spirit, in Jesus.

There's a whole different life waiting for me, so my objectivity... is not to set my moral compass of what I won't do this next year. I hope you do that come New Year's night. But how about to set my moral compass of, Lord, I want to be like you. I just want to be like you.

Now, there is us crying out to go from our natural life. Our natural understanding, our natural thinking, our studied out thinking, our superior reasoning, which is still natural.

And when we start crying out with our whole heart, I want to come into you. We're wanting to come into the supernatural, the supernatural of the Holy Spirit, the supernatural of Jesus. The supernatural of hearing the voice of Jesus.

The supernatural of being guided by God's presence in our life. Now, see, evangelicals never hear the voice of Jesus. Like people who are filled with the spirit do. Because they limit what they hear and they say Jesus doesn't speak anymore.

It's part of the theology in Southern Baptist realm is Jesus doesn't speak anymore. The last time he spoke was scripture and we have that and we'll tell you what it means. When scripture says that Jesus is in our midst and Jesus speaks, does it not?

In John chapter 10 and verse 4, when he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. So if you can't hear his voice, it means you're not his sheep.

There are many people I love that think they're sheep belonging to Jesus, but they don't hear his voice. Did God create any sheep of his that would be deaf? Did he create any sheep of his that doesn't have ears?

Is he a liar? Because if he didn't lie, if you truly belong to him, you're supposed to be hearing his voice. But yet for years I was told in the evangelical realm of, well, God doesn't speak anymore. Jesus doesn't speak anymore.

Last time he spoke was scripture. And so they limited me to my natural mind of what scripture says, which is the magnetic north. Now, we can use magnetic north.

There's a lot of religious things, truly religious things, good religious things that we're supposed to do. If we read the Ten Commandments, us reading those is a religious thing. It gives us magnetic north. Us doing those things gives us true north.

Do you see the difference? I can't get to true north unless I do what it says. Now, if I do what it says, only the Holy Spirit could have spoken that in my heart, and the voice of Jesus is going to lead me in being pleasing to my Father.

So in Romans 8:26, it says, in the same way, the Holy Spirit also helps our weakness. How many of you are weak? For we do not even know how to pray as we should.

Do you realize Jesus never prayed a prayer that wasn't the Father's will? He always found the Father's will and he prayed according to the Father's will. And everything that he prayed happened.

Most of what people pray today is out of their will, out of their flesh, out of their conscience, out of their mind. It has nothing to do with the help of the kingdom of God. It has nothing to do with the help of a brother and sister to find him.

It has nothing to do with his presence in our life. Instead, we're praying prayers of things that we want to happen in our life because we're not persuaded that the pursuit of spiritual things is worthwhile.

We compare, okay, well, I tried that last year. No, you didn't. There's lie number one. Now, if you had visitation from the Holy Spirit, got filled with the Holy Spirit, and you had some encounters with the Lord, did that wear off?

No. You just got hard-hearted and started chasing what you wanted and doing what you wanted. So now the scar tissue comes over that which you were doing.

Matter of fact, it says in the book of Revelation, for the person that has lost their first love. Now, I'm not going to ask you to raise your hand. I might have to raise mine too. How many of us have lost our first love?

Because our first love becomes our only love. We can't have... Something that we love here and our first love over there. Our compass will be doing this, or it will reset itself somewhere in between.

Now, even in between is not true north, is it? If I have a magnetic north and it's that way and true north is this way, now if I do my calculations and magnetic north has to do with something that I want and I desire, I could still say I'm headed towards Christ, but I'm headed here.

Now, how many of you know if you're one degree off and you've got 6,000 miles to go, you're going to be 1,000 miles off by the time you get there? Just one degree on your compass. And have you figured out that it's a long way to get there?

So the increments of our calculations and our compass are truly important. God gave us a moral compass. It's his spirit. His spirit is the true north. His ways are true north.

What his words have said is a magnetic north that will give us an indication of this is what I hear, but when I do it... Now, I've done the calculations to come into the sun, and now I'm headed to true north.

That can help me avoid a lot of things. In the same way, the

Here is the cleaned-up version of the sermon transcription:

In tribulation and devoted to prayer. If my compass is set right and I don't have any desire except God and God alone, here's what I do. I'm persevering. Tribulation has no effect on me. I'm devoted to talking to Him and fellowshipping with Him.

If I have something else that drives me and I want to be over here, I can't rejoice in hope because my hope is supposed to be in one thing - my next peek-a-boo session with Him. It's where He says, "I'm here, Curtis." Now, you might need that today, a real consciousness of His presence.

And you've had that, but you discount it because of the hardness of heart. But if my true intention is for His purposes in my life and my desires have changed just because the Holy Spirit has come upon me and given me a new heart and constantly reinforcing that, then I begin to rejoice and hope.

My greatest hope in this life is that I would be a part of Jesus here and now, and a part of the Father there and then, and a part of the Holy Spirit here and now, and a part of the Holy Spirit then and there. In 1 Corinthians 14:2, for one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but speaks to God.

For no one understands, but in His spirit He speaks mysteries. The tongue that is referred to here by Paul gives us a definition that the language - there's a spiritual language that is the language of angels. That when you become baptized in the Holy Spirit, that is immersed in the Holy Spirit, and become one with the Holy Spirit, there is this language of angels.

That will enter your mind, and a new language will burst out of you that you can't understand. So there's no whiny prayers in the midst of it. There's no list in the midst of it. Instead, it's the Holy Spirit praying to God the Father and releasing to the Father and Jesus what is a message to the heavens of what you truly need.

Not what you want, but what you truly need to become like Jesus. What visitation do you need? And know this, that if you're in hot water and you've got some demonic thoughts and ways in your head, what happens if you pray in the spirit?

The Spirit is the language of angels, is it not? Have you ever thought of this? You're being bombarded in a real bad moment and you begin to say something else. The Holy Spirit can be calling angels to help you.

It's the language that goes up before the Father. And if we don't believe that, how can we obey what Scripture says? It says when you practice this speech, it's not to man, it's to God. You don't understand it. Thank goodness I don't understand it. Because I would be asking amiss.

I've already asked in my own understanding, didn't I? But the spiritual part of me that needs some spiritual answers, the Holy Spirit will be speaking through me if I will open my mouth and let the Holy Spirit speak in His language to the angels and to God the Father.

And He's going to be speaking mysteries to me. And those mysteries are not for God. The mysteries are, how can God make something new and fresh within me when I've contaminated it so many times?

How many of you take a bath and then fall back into the sewage pit because you forgot to cover it up outside? But I say, Galatians 5:16, walk by the Holy Spirit and you will not carry out the deeds or the desires of what you want, when you want it, and how you want it.

You will not carry out your purposes. Your purpose no longer will be Italy. Instead, your purpose will be, I want to be with You today, Jesus. That can be right here, but I can tell you it can expand from here if you do it enough.

Did it expand for Paul? He said, let me tell you about a man that... (pause)

He was called up into the third heaven. And this happened and this happened. And then we look at the book of Revelation and what's going on there.

Again, hypostasis, that's the Greek term, of an angel crying out, "Come up here, John." Now, where do we find John? He's in relationship with Jesus there. But before he was in relationship with Jesus there, watching what was happening, wasn't he in relationship with Jesus down here?

I saw one who was like the son of God. His hair was brilliant. His eyes were like fire. And his feet were brass. And he had these scales.

That happened here on earth. That was not him called up into heaven. And then he was transported to different times, times and half a time and half hour of no time.

But I say, walk in the Spirit and you will not carry out the disease of your flesh. So what is the remedy for us to even consider change this next year? How about we cry out to the Holy Spirit?

How about we ask that the Holy Spirit would come and fill us afresh? Every day. And for what? So that we can achieve what we want? Or that we can have a different mindset that we want to only achieve the purposes of the Father here on this earth?

In Galatians 6:8, for the one who sows to the flesh will from the flesh reap. We read that. But the one who sows to the spirit from the spirit will reap a perpetual life.

That perpetual life, it says eternal, but that's incorrect in the Greek. Translated, perpetual life. Ongoing, real life with Christ and you in the midst of it with him.

So we have to do something. These little peepers right here are supposed to be headed towards Him. Now, if I want to go anywhere in our little boat, what do I do? There's where I'm going. I can't get there by looking over here and looking over there or looking back there.

I can't get there by just glancing. Matter of fact, you sail by fixed points, either on your chart, if you're at sea, on the compass, that's a fixed point.

Or if you're in a bunch amongst the islands and all that stuff, I sail from point to point because I can see, okay, I'm going to that second mountain. I see my compass. I see my chart. The heading is 190 degrees, and I look at the nose of my boat, and I focus on up.

There's three humps of a mountain, and I'm going to the middle hump. I'm going to a point. So there's three of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And it doesn't matter which one you fix your point on.

I would prefer you learn to fix your point on Jesus. He's right in there. And see, I can't come to the Father unless I am in Jesus. I can't even come into the Spirit unless I'm in Jesus.

I come and say, Jesus, I want You as my Lord and master. And He says, "OK, Father and I are going to send you the Holy Spirit." Now you listen to what He has to say. He will teach you and remind you of everything I've had to say.

So I get reinforcement in my heart. And somebody comes up and says, "Do you know you look like a blue Smurf?" And I want to help him with his poor vision. You know, can you see me now? Am I still blue? Am I still a Smurf?

How many know that don't help? Instead, I have to see something different. Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Now remember, faith is what? Faith comes by hearing and hearing the voice of Jesus. There's where faith is. If you're not hearing the voice of Jesus, you don't have faith.

There's this pandemic problem within pseudo Christianity. People say they have faith, but they do not hear Jesus. How can you have faith if the origin of faith is hearing Jesus? Do we have faith in something else?

I would say so. We have faith in our religious compass that is a magnetic north that kind of is picking up on my desires.

And God's desires at the same time. And it gives me a course that's off course. I can't arrive. And not only can I not arrive, I get into a tight situation.

If I'm on magnetic north, I'm missing the wreath that's there because that wreath is set on the map and the chart in real time on true north.

Matter of fact, there's even a true north thing that's on a map. And there's a couple of ways you can sail. One is by the stars. We'll get to that. And the other one is by the day.

That's where you're using the sun to be able to triangulate with Sexton. And I probably need to bring that. I think I've brought it before.

But another way is when I'm in a real tight area and it's daylight, or even if it's night and you've got a bunch of lighthouses around you, you can triangulate off of a chart.

Exactly where you're at from point to point. I've got a compass that I hold up and I look through it and it gives me the exact compass setting and I note the point and then I can look at the map and I can catch that point and then I catch another point over there and another point over here and another point.

Now I can triangulate exactly where I'm at because if I'm in a bunch of islands, there are all these reefs that are there, rocks sticking up. But they're under the water, they're disguised, and they're saying, "Hey, come over here."

And here's the thing, I come around some of the islands, and I don't know if you know it, we have some of the most pronounced currents in the world that are out here.

Sometimes I've seen it between islands. One time we were coming around one island, and I saw ahead of us all these white caps.

And I thought, wow, Jackie, let's get reefed, you know, because we're fixing to hit some strong wind.

And it was the first time I'd really seen that. And so we reefed and got all of our sails ready.

And when we got in there, it was just current fighting current. There was no wind. It was current fighting current, but it caused a bunch of waves.

We have come around corners and we're doing, we're maybe doing 10, 12 knots because of the current that's there.

And we come around the corner and now the current was coming from the other direction and it hits us at three or four knots on the nose and it's pushing us over into the reef.

So I've got to know where the reefs are in life. And the Holy Spirit is the one that does that.

And I'd love to teach you charting and maps and all that stuff. Hebrews 12:1, therefore, since we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance of missing what God says, when God says, how God says.

That's sin. Which so easily, it's easy to get entangled and change what he says. I just despise if I say somebody, tell somebody, well, I need you to paint that red for me, if you don't mind.

And I come back and it's white. Okay. Do you know what? Are you colorblind? Are you?

And it's somebody I paid to do it. Well, no, I just, I liked white that day. I thought you'd like white better. Did I stutter?

What color is red to you? Can you show me your color chart? So you knew consciously that I said red, but you painted it something else.

That's what you like and that's what you see. And that's the way you want it. So people who love, who have a hard time taking instructions, can't admit they can't take instructions, will nearly always give me a second answer.

Do you mean this? Or, oh, I'll do it this way. How many of you have been personally responsible when I just give you some simple instructions, but you change it most of the time?

Raise your hand. See, now you've got to practice not changing it because part of your challenge is being able to hear the Lord.

And if you can't take instructions from one of His little men here on earth, how are you going to take instruction? You change it with Him. That's what He wants you to catch.

You'll change it with Him. Because if we're reading Scripture, our mind can reformat it really quick. So He sends one of His representatives and says these words exactly like this. I want it in red.

And now you give it to me in blue and you give it to me in pink and you give it... What are you? What's God trying? Is He condemning you or just showing you you're not colorblind, but your mind is changing this?

And for some reason you think it's all right, which means you do Scripture that way. So there is this thing that will entangle us.

And that's our rendition of our thoughts of how we can substitute. We're looking for a substitute rather than following what the Holy Spirit has said.

Now, I love it that Scripture is also what the Holy Spirit has said. Why? Because everything that the Holy Spirit has to say to you or will have to say to you after you're baptized in the Holy Spirit, it lines up with what Scripture has to say.

So we've got one chart laying over another chart to keep us on a true, true heading. I've talked forever about these things, but I think I'm running out of time. Am I?

Oh my goodness, no. 1 John 2:6. The one who says he abides in himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

I mean, many people say I belong to Christ. But yet their actions, their attitudes, their non-repentance. Now I understand everyone can have some bad actions.

But are you sorry for those, and do you want to repent of those? Because if you've justified that it's okay that you do those, now you're in real trouble.

Everyone who says he abides in Him, if you tell me you abide in Him, but I see you've got other desires, I would say those desires aren't in Him, and you're not abiding in Him. Is that the measurement as to whether somebody's abiding in Him?

Jesus is busy about the Father's business, and if I see you busy about your business, are you abiding in Jesus? If I see you arguing and fussing and fighting about... it doesn't matter what you're fighting about.

You realize people use emotion just to get their way? Have you ever seen babies use their emotion?

We had one downstairs, a cute little thing. And she didn't like that her mama was getting to eat food. Actually, that wasn't it. She just, no, I want you alone to hold me now.

You know, she can't talk. So she started going... And what did we all do? I said, okay, everybody, I did it first, and then you guys joined me.

And we helped her out of that, didn't we? And why?

That was what she wanted to do, and it was disruptive to the spirit of us being in the spirit and us camaraderie. So we had to get hold of that spirit and separate her from that spirit.

You realize we're supposed to help people. We're supposed to help separate them from the demonic influence that demons are speaking to them.

Doesn't it make the statement in Scripture that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers of darkness in high places? Those are the demonic forces that speak to us.

Now, you don't have to be possessed with one. They will always influence everyone on earth.

I don't know if you know that or not. Has anybody ever been influenced by demonic forces?

Then that's a common thing. And should we be afraid of that? If we're not in Jesus, yes. But if we're in Jesus, they're afraid of him.

So it's an important thing if you want to hear less and less from them. Now, if you just want to hang on the fence and they're on the other side, they'll continue to talk to you.

But if you move far enough into Jesus, into his kingdom. You're baptized into his presence and into his mind and heart. We get away from the fence and now you just hear... I call it the callings of the night.

Oh, this is going to go bad and this is going to... Can they make anything happen inside Jesus? No.

So everything they have stays alive. But we can't stop listening to them unless we fill ourselves with the truth that comes from his mouth and his presence.

His presence in His mouth and what He has to say will change our thinking so that He can free us.

It says we know this, that He abides in us by the Spirit whom He has given us. The Spirit's going...

Here is the cleaned-up version of the sermon transcription with proper punctuation, capitalization, and natural paragraphs:

To get you further away from the edge of the field, He's going to say, "Let's walk deep into God. Let's seek deep after God. Let's get deep." You know, there's a little place in Him that's up the hill. Let's go deep up the hill in Him. I can show you where some springs are.

So if we're going to talk about overcoming bad habits that weigh us down, we can't stop the bad habits unless we're a new person. So I must come away from the fence, come into Jesus, let the Holy Spirit lead me deep into God, which means I have to seek Him with all my heart, mind, soul, and body.

If He sees you lacking behind, oh yeah, I'm coming, you're not seeking Him with all your heart. So the demonic forces will become stronger in your life. Now remember, they don't own you unless you belong to Satan. But if you said, "Jesus, I want you to be my Lord and Master, and I want to belong to You," then you have to change slave owners.

Either you're going to be Satan's slaves, or you'll be a slave to Jesus, and you're the one that chooses to be a slave to Jesus. But if you choose to be His slave, now you're set free from demonic forces, which are the forces of evil, fallen angels, devil, etc. It is their job to kill, steal, and destroy anything and everything that's good and pure and anything that belongs to God.

So you can never have a good life because their whole job is to kill, steal, and destroy. Jesus' job is to bring us into the kingdom. He provides His heart and His mind for us, and provides a place called the kingdom that we can live in His joy and in His presence with His provision. A totally different place.

So I would tell you there's different charts that we need to get. And I've had Jackie download them. We have all the charts of the whole Pacific West Coast. The Pacific Center, we have all the charts of Australia, China, Indian Ocean, and I'm having her also download, would you download for me, please? Patagonia.

I'd love to say Patagonia. But I also need the charts of the Atlantic, too, don't I? And there's harbor charts, there's coastal charts, there's mid-ocean charts. There's all these different charts that have the information that I need to miss all the things that I need to miss and to find the points of life that I need to find.

So God's charts, in my opinion, are His scripture. And it talks about the worldly charts. We're going to have to navigate the waters of everybody else's emotions and bad things. But we do not have to navigate the waters of our own emotions. We do not have to navigate the waters of our own hidden agendas that are reefs in our life.

However, you can see all the little numbers that are on there. But the problem with looking at a chart, if you can't see the legend, the legend is always down at the bottom, and it's going to give you the distance, it's going to give you the Greenwich Mean Time.

See, I've got to calculate everything off of the latitude and longitude, which comes off of Greenwich Mean Time. And I look at that as God's beginning time of what He says when He says how He says it. And everything else in the world is calculated off of that.

Now, I can back into that with numbers if I want to calculate from one direction, or I can come in from the front side if I want to calculate. It depends on if you're going to calculate from east to west or west to east. We use different numbers to calculate out the time of exactly where we are, and then we look at the sun through the... Oh, look! Never see again.

I have a sextant that has special sunscreens, and I can look at the sun, and I can see the horizon, and I've got the exact time, and then I've got my calculation book of Greenwich Mean Time. I can calculate out by taking a sighting of the sun, and if the moon's up now, I've got two sightings, but I can calculate out exactly where I'm at in the ocean within two feet.

No matter where I'm at. And if it's night, it gets better because I can take a calculation off the North Star. I can take a calculation off the constellations. If I catch three of those, I can get within a mile of where I'm at. If I can catch about six of those, I can narrow that down within probably 10 feet of where I'm at.

But I have to understand God's timing and God's purposes. There's Greenwich. See, time has to start somewhere. And time means I live for God, I walk for God, I love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and body.

And my true north, magnetic north, magnetic north has to do with all the currents of the earth magnetically. True north is a different location. It actually points to the axis. True north, actually, the true north always points to the North Star. I don't know if you know that or not.

But if we're going to talk about stars, now we've got to talk about all the truths of God. So I triangulate over here. Is it best not to lie? Yes, I look at the "Don't Lie" star. Is it best not to holler and scream? I look at the "No Hollering and Screaming" star.

Is it best not to chase after going to Europe? I look at that star. And then I look at this other star that says, "It's best to pursue Me with all your heart, mind, soul, and body." And out of all those, I triangulate and I do all the math and I can tell you where I'm at.

You're supposed to be able to do that in the spirit. Jesus is the only one that has a boat that can circumnavigate the heavens. It gets your mind out of it. But when we go to the boat, it's all work, all focus, where we're going, what the sails are doing, what the wind is doing, what the water is doing, what the currents are doing, what the heading is, what the chart says, what the evaluation of our bottom condition is, what the evaluation of the storms coming up.

Our boat is designed, you could go through weather like this and not even blink. But most of the boats around here are not designed like that, and they would not even survive this little storm. I say this is a little storm. This is a little storm. That's kind of what it would look like when we went up to Vancouver to meet my cousin.

We had 12-foot seas, but six-second intervals. That means there'd be a wave right here, and we're riding down that, and there's a wave where that buck wall is, and now we're fixing to have to go back up it. And Jackie and I just loved it because it proved out the boat. It just sliced the waves in half.

We looked at each other. Water was blasting up over the bow, going all the way to the back. Oh, God! Why? We're in a boat that can handle those kind of seas. And we looked for five to six years to find one that could do that. There's not many. They don't make them anymore.

Well, make one. It's called the Kraken. Don't like the name of it, but anyway, you can see this is a small storm. Calibration of the compass true north is always set by our first love and our only love.

You can never get where you're going. Pardon? This is Jubilee, our little boat. It's designed to get you there. Worst storm, we could put it in a heat tube position, go downstairs, sleep for five or six days till the hurricane blows over, 100-mile-hour winds, and come back up and get the sails back up and start heading to our destination.

Of course, we would have to look at the charts, but suppose we're out far enough that there are no charts. I also have some paper charts. I'm collecting paper charts. And why? Because I can use my sextant. Okay, we got this, and we got that, and we got that.

I find, oh, okay, we need a new chart because that storm has taken us off about 700 miles from where we were. Do you know that storms can take you off from where you were? Even if you're pursuing God, they can take you off from where you were.

But it doesn't mean that you can't wake up and get back to business after the storm to find God. And you cannot find him unless God is your only true north. He's not a magnetic north. Magnetic north to me is us practicing good religion, not Buddhism, good religion listed in Scripture.

But it's not by the Spirit. Everything that is done is supposed to be done in the Spirit, by the Spirit, through the Spirit. Everything that is within us should have a passion and a desire to progress to God, not go over here and see this on the way and then go over there and see that on the way.

So I would say to you, God's holy scripture that He's given us, it's the charts. And remember, I was telling you about the legend. The legend is going to tell me that the measurements on there might be in meters.

And then it might have a little sub-number written under that that could be in feet. Or the legend might show that the big number is in fathoms. Anybody know what a fathom is? That's six feet. So if the big number says, okay, there's three fathoms, and the little number says, and two.

So it's three fathoms, that's 18 feet, plus two feet is what? And that is at super low tide. That's not at high tide. And so all that instructions on that map is telling you what all the designated things mean.

And unless you have what the designated things mean, and you just have a chart without that legend, now it's guesswork. And so when I look at scripture, it has the charts. But who's the only person that has the legends? The Holy Spirit.

God makes it clear that if we spend time with Him in the Holy Spirit, trusting in the Holy Spirit, communing in Him and with Him, and I would say there's probably two of Him, God the Father and Jesus the Son.

And He is a key calibration for true north. I cannot calibrate true north without the Holy Spirit. And I cannot calibrate true north without being in Jesus. And I cannot be in Jesus if I'm somewhere else in me doing what I want, when I want, how I want.

Jesus doesn't go with me to fulfill my pleasures. He's there only to fill and give the Father pleasure. So the Holy Spirit alone, he has the charts. There's two different sites of charts that I quoted to. There's charts of the world of how do we get around the reefs and storms and other things that people present to us.

There is a chart from the Holy Spirit that will help you get out of you and to get into Him. And then there's another chart. It's chart CK. That's the chart of the kingdom. Once we get in the kingdom.

And He alone, he alone is the one that has the ledgers of the charts. Remember, scripture is the charts. They're already given for us. They've got the different trees and points of light. They have the navigation that we need.

But without knowing the distances and without knowing the reference points, we can't do the math to find out even where we are, let alone where we're going. And we can't follow Him. And can you stay in step in walking in the Holy Spirit? But the Holy Spirit intends to teach us that if we will catch the truth of, oh my goodness.

My whole life has been charted. I'll get this job, and I'll do this, and I'll get this house, and I'll get this inheritance, and I'll get this, and I'll get that. And God, I love you all the way, and I will pay some tithes, and we'll go to church.

Is that pursuing God with all your heart, mind, soul, and body? No. That's a magnetic north, and you can't find Him on that heading. So 2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. A new creature just has a passion for God and God's purposes.

Would you agree? So if you see that you have a passion for something that's not in God and for God and pursuing God, that's going to set your compass off. So there's your first warning sign. So you come to someone that calibrates compasses.

And I'll help you calibrate your compass. I'll say, well, this is your desire. This is your desire. And this is not seeking God. Now, I'm not going to tell you anything new, but you're going to get mad and deny. No, no. God gives me. No, I will tell you truth.

Now, whether you want to accept it and reset your compass so that you can get on. In tears. I'm leaving. I'm not looking at that anymore. No, I'm not sailing that direction. I'm going this direction. I'm going to pursue Him with all my heart.

And you might have to give up some things for that thing that you wanted. But let it die. And pursue God. And you'll find He'll begin to give you more and more. Development of the new creature, and the old things they were going to pass away, and behold now new things have come.

When Jackie and I set sail to go up into Canada, my cousins were flying in, and they caught the train up there, and we were going to meet them. And it's about a two-day sail to where we were going to meet them. And we hit some 30, 40-knot gusts, and we hit the seas and all that stuff.

I mean, the boat was a rocket, and it was really cool. We enjoyed it. Why? Because we knew the capability of the boat. We knew the condition of the boat. We knew how to sail. Well, I did. We weren't afraid of the storm.

A boat can handle the storm. Your life in God can handle any storm that you go through. You batten down the hatches and you get with Him. You get below deck. You get out of the weather. And you stay away from shore. Shore means places of safety, I will go to in case of an emergency.

If I'm going to be hit with 100-mile-hour winds and 60-foot seas, which is not uncommon just right out here in the Gulf of Alaska, I constantly watch all the, they're called the Aleutian lows that come off of there. They swing off of Japan and off of Siberia and come swinging across there.

And right now, I counted 27 lows yesterday. And I also look and see, oh, these are really mean. Actually, I got some 60, 50-foot waves in that little pocket. Only 30 foot over here. I've got news, 30 foot will wake you up, I promise.

But I watch that weather, just like I watch your weather sometime in mine. The boat, if we will stay with Jesus, it can handle any of that weather. And whether you're the cause or not of the weather does not matter. If you're with Jesus is what matters.

And the safest place I can be is as far out as sea, away from the things that I depend upon of life. I can't run aground. Where people run aground is, well, I've got to be close to the shore. The storm will help you get there.

Our objectivity is be as far out of sea as we can, and now we're out of danger. Yes, we're in storms, but we're out of danger. Now, I realize the new philosophy today for the plastic bleach bottle wannabe boats, I call them that because they sink in storms.

I call them that because they stink in storms. I call them that because you won't be safe. You'll be taking your life in your own hands if you're going to try to weather out. But they say, well, we can outrun the storm. That's the new philosophy.

Our boat will do, you know, 12 knots and we're going to outrun the storm. Well, my boat will do eight knots and I can go through the storm. The kind of boat I have was designed when there was no instrumentation, there was no weather reports, and you just had your compass and sextant, and whatever the weather was, it was, and you had to be willing and able to go through it.

God wants to give you that kind of life, those kind of abilities, but you have to come into Him in that new creature, and He will make... New things come. Titus 3:5 and finishing. He has saved us.

And I would like to get you to replace the word "saved" as sozo in the Greek, which means delivered. He is delivering us not on the basis of deeds, which we have done in righteousness. That we can never accomplish. But according to His mercy.

He's always stopping something you got coming if you love Him and belong to Him. Did you know that? And if you don't love Him and belong to Him, he's not going to stop that which you caused. You're the one that loosed the emergency brake and revved the engine up on the train, and you drove like a fool 10 miles ahead of it and tied yourself to the track.

Remember the Daily Do-Right cartoon? That woman could get tied to the tracks more than anybody ever saw. But according to God's mercy, if you love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and body, He wants to have mercy upon you to lead you out of those habitual errors and poor virtues.

Where you have no quality of life. He wants to lead you into a quality of life where you have noble virtues. And so He's going to provide that mercy, but at the same time, He's going to provide this washing of regeneration.

I don't like the wording here and the renewing by His Holy Spirit. What that says is He's going to provide an absolute cleansing because there was a special dish that you were supposed to wash in before you went into the tabernacle.

So He's going to provide that holy water that's in that holy label in order to sanctify you. And now the regeneration is a lousy word in English too. How about transformation of the mind and the heart to become like God when it was like a skunk?

Transformation of the mind and heart that it becomes like Jesus with Jesus' passion, Jesus' purposes. And a new renewing in the Father's spirit. A renewing to what? Renew to what? Remember Adam in the garden?

He had a relationship with the Father. He was designed to be plugged into the Father. He

Here is the cleaned sermon transcription:

Wind, this to catch. It's called tacking. I'm going upwind, but my destination is to Him. And it doesn't matter that I have to tack. I know what my course and my heading will be. I've got to take many courses to stay on course because of the winds of life, the purposes of life that come, the storms of life that come out of me.

Jesus gives you an invitation. Into the mysteries. Away from the drama. Into the hope of the life in Him. For there are many storms that are coming. And I count going through a storm a great joy when I'm beside Him. Because I get to see what He's going to do. I'm not responding. I'm not reacting. I'm not overacting. I'm saying, "Are you doing anything?" No. I'm going to go downstairs and have some coffee. Would you join me?

Yes, Lord. Am I supposed to say, "Are you sure everything is going to be all right?" Or does that matter? It doesn't matter if the boat's upside down and I die. If I'm having coffee with Him, you're going to be in good company.

Jesus gave you an invitation to come and shelter in Him. Die to your flesh. Live in the spirit. Walk in His presence. And no help. The greatest king and love of your life, if you will press in and find Him, you will count everything else as worthless compared to knowing Him.

Jesus is calling to you. The Holy Spirit is calling to you, saying, "Come this way." Prepare your hearts to be led by My spirit that you might have a good year this upcoming year.

Thank you guys out there for joining us. I pray God's spirit visits you also. And you see the great hope that He's laid out for you. Love you. God bless. Amen.
